I was accepted into the Fall semester, but I want to start in the Summer B term instead. I’ve called the admissions office asking what I need to do to start in fall, but I only got a brief answer about emailing them. Aside from emailing them, EXACTLY what do I need to do to start in the summer regarding FAFSA, housing contracts, etc?
I apologize if there’s already info on this, I just couldn’t find it.
You can’t do anything about the housing until after they notify you that you got the term change. But summer housing is selected in mid-May, so you should be ok with that. Preview for summer B will also be in May, but you can’t sign up for that until after they change your term. We are in the same boat, but are hoping this works out. I believe it’s easier to change from fall to summer, than from summer to fall, but I guess there’s no guarantee.
My son is considering moving from fall term to Summer B (as part of an Engineering Summer Bridge Program). We are from out of state so there won’t be any trips home over the 6 week session. Is there a lot going on during the summer sessions, particularly for new freshman? Do most students stick around on the weekends?
Summer is definitely quieter than the fall, but there will be plenty of other freshmen there looking for something to do. Most students do hang around over the weekend.
