Summer B

So I looked online and it said I got into Summer B, but not Fall? I have a 1390 SAT score and my dad lives in-state. What's the deal. Could someone explain the whole Summer B thing to me?

Thanks!

I've heard from a current student that you take 2 classes 5 days a week and that it's better to start in summer. I'm planning to switch from fall to summer to get used to the campus

HAHAHHAHHAHA. dont worry, it says summer B because you applied summer B. it doesnt mean you got accepted to do a summer program then your kicked out

I know someone last year who applied for Fall but was accepted only on the condition that he start in summer B. An acceptance is an acceptance...take it.

if u start in summer b, do u also take classes that fall and spring also?

Of course you take classes in the fall and spring also. You do summer B, store your stuff in your Fall dorm room, then come back when the dorms reopen in August. When you come back for Fall you will feel very comfortable with UF life and have 6 credits already done.

Summer B is offered to many students who apply for Fall. Some consider it as a negative, but it is a numbers game at UF because so many apply (25,000-ish). Summer is a great time to get acquainted with the campus and get a class or two out of the way. If you really want to go to UF, you'll accept their summer offer.

theres absolutely nothing wrong with summer. its actually a very intelligent decision. if your going to mess up in college it might as well be when your not taking many credits

anyone know if you can switch from summer B to fall if you originally applied for summer B?

I dont think you can ChamilitaryMayne. Though if it was me I would stick with Summer B, all of my dad's fraternity brothers/sons of brothers have all recomended it. It gives you a great chance to adapt to college life before everything starts in fall.

Dont forget footbll starts in fall, as well as there is triple the amount of people on campus. If you do summer you wont have all the crazy stuff to deal with like everyone will in the fall.

as kristen said, summer B is highly recommended. though you can, however, switch to fall if you applied for summer B (as long as you didnt get a contract that says you go summer B or no UF for you)

Well, I mean I just do not understand why I was not admitted to Fall. I have a 3.9 GPA 70 joint enrollment credits and a 1390 SAT score...it doesn't add up. I was not planning on going to UF anyways, but it would be nice to know why UF did not think I was good enough to be admitted for the fall.

YOU THINK WE KNOW THE ANSWER? why do you care if not planning on going to UF anyways

y the hell wouldnt u take summer B, not only do u finish early you also get know people and the campus, and in some cases it increases your chances of admission, so Y not, if u say know cause u got accepted summer B and not Fall then U ARE RETARDED

Florida appears to have out smarted you. They may suspect that Fla. is not your first choice and, yet, are kind enough to give you a chance to show them and you that it is your best choice.

OK OK, I was just wondering what their reasons were. I am not going to Florida, not because of my admission status but because I can graduate from UGA in three semesters. I can not garuntee that UFL will accept all of my credits.

sorry man, you gotta understand we dont work for uf. the fact is we all took a stab at it and you kept asking the same question. if you'd like to know more, please call em at admissions they can prob offer more advice then us
