So after doing a rough map out of the next four years I will spend at ucsb, I realize that in order to complete everything I want to do, I will need to devote a summer or two to taking classes. Do I have to take them at ucsb or can I take them at my local community college?

You can take them at a community college as long as the courses will transfer

Right but is that still the case if you are already enrolled at ucsb? I heard that you can only take courses that fulfill you ge requirements but not ones that will apply to your major. I hope that isn’t true!

I’m majoring in mechanical engineering and a ucsb counselor recommended I take a ME 10 at sbcc, so I would assume you’re allowed to take major courses also. Plus I took a couple major courses at my CC before I transferred so yeah I think you should be able to.

well for upper division and your major you have to take at ucsb, you can take upper division at other UCs in the summer, not sure about your major though
