Summer classes and financial aid

I am currently attending community college in Flagstaff and will be graduating in May with my AS. I will be transferring to University of Arizona in the fall. I will need to take some summer classes to catch up a bit due to them not being offered at my community college. I would like to take them at Pima Community College in Tucson as I will save a lot of money over taking them at UA. I would like to know if I will be eligible to receive financial aid through Pima Community Collge for my summer classes. I will be taking two classes, Calc 3 and Physics, which would be 9 credits total. I have heard of people being denied aid at a community college due to having already earned a degree or too many credits. Google has not been my friend in finding information on this subject.

Contact PCC directly. They are the only ones who can tell you what rules would apply in your specific situation.

I am waiting for a response from them. I was just hoping that someone here might know something about this rule.

It looks like PCC’s policy is that I am not eligible to receive aid for the summer if I did not attend during the spring. Can I just submit a loan change form to Coconino and use that money for Pima?

Students are only eligible to receive federal aid at a school where they are in a regular, degree-seeking program. If you are taking a couple classes at a school in the summer, you are a guest student. Guest students are NOT eligible for federal aid.

If you have loan eligibility left in the current term at your current school, you are entitled to request the funds.
