I just finished sophomore year in high school and I'm going to be taking Spanish I at a community college over the summer. Will this affect my high school GPA at all?

For UC and CSU purposes, college courses taken while in high school will count as “honors” courses when calculating your GPA for admissions purposes.

Be aware that college language courses are much faster paced than typical high school language courses.

Just wondering, how exactly will this be added into my GPA? Apparently this summer course will be worth two years of high school credit so if I got an A, how would that be added in?

I took several classes during high school and I was given credit for a whole year. For example, I took Intro to Psychology during one semester, but was given credit for a whole year. When it came to calculating GPA, the community classes counted as AP classes.

So if you got an A, did they put in two A’s for different semesters? I’m starting to wonder if they’ll put in four semesters worth if grades since they said that this course counts as two years of high school spanish…
