Summer College letter

I am a senior waiting on my decision from Stanford. Today I received a letter in the mail that was sent a couple weeks ago about summer college at Stanford. I was wondering if this was related at all to my application.

The letter was sent from the Office of Collegiate Programs, which is obviously not the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. I can't help but get a little optimistic, which is probably a bad thing.

I know some schools require incoming freshman to attend the summer semester/quarter in order to attend in the fall, but I don't think this is the same thing. Can somebody tell me if I am reading too much into this?

edit: Also, I am on the opposite side of the country in an average public high school, so I can't help but think it had something to do with my application. Why else would I be on a mailing list? ugh

woops, didn’t search thoroughly enough. I found a thread from just two weeks ago asking the same question. It doesn’t look like it means anything as far as admissions is concerned, but I still wonder why I was invited.
