Anyone thinking of getting a head start and maybe starting one or two classes at Columbia during the summer?

Anyone know where to find more information?

there really is no reason to do this and i'm not even sure that columbia would count that toward your gpa. Its the summer before your freshman year...just enjoy it!

Head start on what? Unless you're graduating in 3 years or something, there's no point.

Also, Columbia summer school is a rip-off.

so which summer school is good then? berkeley???

Your local community college, where it costs like $50 for a course.

I think I might want to graduate in 3 years. I should just take classes at the local community college if I want to do that then?

no, they probably wont count for credit toward ur columbia degree....

why do u wanna graduate in 3 yrs anyway?? and what are u planning on majoring in?

They will count, as long as they are after your high school graduation. They won't go towards your GPA, though.

Nothing inherently wrong with graduating in 3 years. Columbia is expensive.

Anyway I was just thinking of things to do this summer, and there was an opportunity at NIH but I don't want to be down in maryland my last summer home. I was just thinking of things to do besides being a bum and hanging out with friends, job, and some misc things here and there, all summer.

IMO taking classes would be a bad option.
