summer essay=150 words?

for the elaboration on any extracurricular, it says that it should be about 150 words...does this also go for the "what did you do the past two summers?" essay? how long was your summer essay?

i wouldnt say the summer one is an essay. more similar to bullet points(without actually doing that). it is about 100-150 wds altogether though ( 2 summers)

alright, thanks a bunch

I got 200 right now...do you think that's all right?

So 500 words is a bit too much? :(

i really hate that they dont give a word limit! im going to write more of an essay than list.

I think it depends on what you did. 500 is probably about as long as anyone should go, and only use that if you did something really unique that takes a lot of space to talk about. for most people, less than 100 will be just as good as 100-200.

The online field will cut you off after a certain character limit. I don't even think you can go to 500 words on the summer essay.

they shouldve specified a word limit.....

I think the app does say 150 words. . .

It doesn't specify a limit. Personally, I just wrote mine out and it came to 298 words. However, in my case one summer was my final year at a camp which has been a MAJOR influence in my life and where I did ALOT, and the second summer was a normally college level internship which I got with a leading web-consulting firm. So I'd say it varies on if you did anything worthwhile over the summers, and how complex they are (how many words you need to explain them fully).

Woah -- since I did the online app, I just typed a response in the summer essay field. I filled up the entire field basically until I got cut off by the text box. I did a quick word count now in Word and my summer essay is 386 words. I thought I did a good job of elaborating though, and I'm not going to cut it down any shorter -- I agree with what arbiter said.

I agree with what the previous 2 posters have said--just write what you need to, no more, no less.

I tinkered with fitting characters in the box. You can have up to 2500 including spaces.
