summer job

I want to work this summer but I don't know where. Where's the best place to work?

Well that's pretty vague. What are your interests? Where have you worked? Internships? Need leadership experience? What do you think you're going to major in once you get to college?

I would say "someplace that pays" would be a good start.

I work at a local retail outlet and I like it, but it doesn't pay too well and I wish I got more hours.

If you like free food and don't mind working at a fast food joint, work there

If you refuse to make food or dress up funny, and don't mind repetitive office tasks like typing or filing, then work in an office as a secretary (often times you get decent money doing this type of job)

If you love books, work at a bookstore.

If you love clothes, work at a clothing store

If you are handy with fixing stuff, washing cars, or mowing lawns, good money maker here!

Same idea goes for everything

where can you get the most free stuff?

Peach Chardonnay, most places don't just give you free stuff, but they will give you a nice discount. If you want to be able to take advantage of an employee discount, I'd advise looking for a job at your favorite store

If you like research, there's always the local labs or gov't institutes or museums. They might or might not stipend you, but I had an awesome internship last year where I got to take a college bio class for free and it was all living (well, in a cabin) in the mountains and field work. And plus while it doesn't pay well, it looks really good for colleges if you're interested in that.
