Summer Orientation

The website stated that all summer orientations are at capacity, and make-up session is available on 8/30. Just wondering what will happen to those students who have not accepted admission to Rutgers as they are still waiting to hear from other schools, and some private school do not send out acceptance notice until March? Will those prospective student lose out on summer sessions since they have not yet registered for them? Not able to attend the summer orientation will be a disadvantage? I appreciate any comments from current students.
Thank you.

If you miss out on it, don’t stress about it. It is mostly a social event, they give you a tour here and there and tell you a few things, but it isn’t vital.

And they have more makeup sessions in the summer that they haven’t planned yet.

I think the website has not been updated since last year. I don’t even think the application for it is out yet. When I did NSO my before my freshman year, I signed up for it in May lol. Give it another month or two and you should see a link to sign up for orientation from within the Enrollment Pathway or whatever system they are using to handle admissions.

As far as orientation goes, it’s a nice way to meet some people before actually starting school and get a little taste of Rutgers. It’s definitely not mandatory and you won’t be missing out if you don’t do it, but it can also be a worthwhile experience. I still know some of the people who went to the same orientation day as I did. It’s a good idea to go to one of the days that is designated as either an Engineering or Pharmacy or SEBS day (whatever school you choose to enroll in) because there will be more students that are interested in the same majors as you.

I agree, that page is probably old. Summer orientation wouldn’t be filled up yet.
