I may be mistaken, but isn’t there a summer theater associated with Shenandoah Conservatory? If so, where online can I find information about this stuff? We live in Baltimore, which isn’t too horribly far away, and it would be great if I could take my D to see something there before we begin college visits in the fall (junior year.)

Any info would be greatly appreciated, and I apologize in advance if this info is right at my fingertips but I was unable to find it. I tooled around the Conservatory Web site and just couldn’t find any summer theater stuff other than a summer camp.

Hi Notmamarose! Here is the link to the summer theater programs:

http://www.su.edu/pr/calendar/summer_theatre.asp

We will hopefully be at the July 9th performance...orientation is the next day. Best wishes on your search! My d will be starting at Shenandoah in the fall. After narrowing her choices down to 7 schools, Shenandoah was always a top choice for her. When all was done, she chose this as her place to be. (It was always one of my top choices because the facilities and the people are truly amazing.)

Have fun on your journey!

Hello,

Another way to get to the SSMT website (Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre) is this way: www.su.edu/conservatory/ssmt

SSMT is a professional summer stock theatre and does 4 musicals per summer with professional actors, supplemented with college actors (usually from the SU program but not exclusively). I am just back from there, having played "Maggie" in 42nd Street, which closed on July 9.

This is the first time I've checked this site in awhile. It was nice to meet Chris and Mikey, both of whom found me on the SU thread.

Cheers!
