Summer Programs? Could a rising Sophomore make it in?

When I would be going I would be going into Sophomore year, does that limit my chances of making it into a Summer Program at Georgetown?

That said, what did you guys think of them?

Thanks!

I assume you are referring to the various summer high school programs(?). As far as the one week “Institutes” go, you basically have a self-selecting group (in that it isn’t really appealing to those without some level of academic focus). Assuming you are in good academic standing and do not have discipline problems at school, you should not have any problem getting in. My daughter went to one earlier in the summer (she’s a rising junior, having just finished her sophomore year). She met kids who had been there every summer since after their freshman year. FWIW - she loved the experience.

I would assume the for credit programs have tougher admissions standards.

Alright, thank you! Good news to me!

I went to one. They are not difficult to get into - from what I have heard they are a way to fill the dorms during the summer. However I had a fantastic experience and recommend it!
