summer programs?

i'm currently a sophomore in high school
does anyone have summer programs they would recommend? i'm open to anything
thanks!

yes, there are some still available, if you have about $3000-5000 to spend.

Summer@Brown, if you hurry. For one residential week though, it costs about 2.4k, and close to 5k for 3 residential weeks (financial aid resources were used up LONG ago), you don’t get college credit, but rather a true college-like experience (residential or commuter) at the nation’s most liberal Ivy League school. They have close to 350 courses, so you can definitely find SOMETHING out there that interests you, and the program isn’t very selective, I think, though I don’t know the limits of that assertion, my transcript was very impressive (won’t be after this semester haha). And I’m going July 11th-29th for a class based on legal cases, so I’d suggest it, it sounds nice. If you can afford it and don’t mind the lack of college credit, then by all means, apply. (Pardon any spelling errors, just trying to be quick, on an ipod touch haha)

PS- Marist University in rural upstate New York has residential college credit courses that I believe are still open. The trouble would be findimg one to fit your interests, as there aren’t very many options, plus I’m not sure on the cost or the length. Other (crummier) non credit proframs include the National Youth Leadership Form on Medicine and the National Young Leaders Conference. Some internships in Boston and New York are open too, though I cannot remember the website, sorry. Best of luck Angel!

thanks!
i’m also just wondering in general about any programs for my junior and senior summer as well… 3-4 weeks would be awesome, if possible

Hmm, if you have an entire year, try researching some that interest you, I myself LOVE politics and government, so I think after taking AP U.S. Government and attending Summer@Brown’s course on law, coupled with the fact that my grandpa knows people, makes me a reasonable candidate for the Summer term Senate or House of Representative Page program, which I would love, so next summer that’s my goal, and of I can’t get into that, I’ll try a (cheap?) college credit program and an internship (preferably with a congressman, though anything in law or government’ll do).

Furman University in South Carolina offers a great Summer Scholars Program. My D attended it a couple years ago and loved it. They have different 1 week courses available and many students take 2 different courses back to back so it ends up as 2 weeks. It is a great value, I believe less than $1800.00 for 2 weeks. Their deadline is May 1st. They do accept some rising juniors. It is worth a look to see if any of the courses interest you.

We also liked the Cornell, Brown and Northeastern summer programs. Kenyon and Carlton have great programs for writing. D ended up picking Furman but was intrigued with those other choices. Good luck to you.
