Summer PSAT vs SAT prep

I've decided to spend part of the summer doing PSAT/SAT prep (going to be a junior). I have the following books:

Kaplan's PSAT
Rocket Review
Gruber's
Blue Book

My question is this: is there a discernible difference in SAT versus PSAT prep? I figure there is, as the PSAT is for sophs/jrs while the SAT is for jrs/seniors. Yes, they are based on the same basic concepts, but there seems to be some value in doing some separate prep for the PSAT (hoping for a NMS). Is there any value (or harm) in simultaneously prepping for both the PSAT and SAT? I'm guessing one will build off the other.

The only major differences that I can see from the PSAT and SAT is no essay section and the length. The writing section is just a 35 question multiple choice or grammar. Basically the same as the section 2-7 of the SAT; underlined error, error id, and improving paragraphs. SAT has 10 sections and the PSAT has 5 sections. I don't see any difference in type of questions or content.

Studying the PSAT if you are going to be studying the SAT is just dumb. They are the same test, only the SAT is longer and has a essay.
