Summer Reading

Im a prefrosh wondering about the summer reading

1) What is the name of the book again? :) I know it has something to do with Gettysburg Address...

2) Should I actually buy and read the book? My friends tell me that it we dont even get quizzed on the reading or something.

Lincoln at Gettysburg. I haven't read it. But will sometime this summer. It's supposed to be an excellent, accessible book mediating on American history. It won the Pulitzer Prize, so think in the McCullough vein...

Cornell University - New Student Reading Project

Cornell will send you the book. So there's no reason to buy it. And, yes, you should read it.

just be grateful that you DONT have to read the pickup, or as we put it, the let-down

OH! If you're going to be on-campus during the summer, for most of the summer, do you just pick it up from the bookstore?

Um... if you're going to be doing COSEP or some other program on campus during the summer, I think they may give you the book then.

Yea, if you're on campus for PSP then you'll get the book in residence hall. If not, then I do not really know what the process is.

I read the Pickup for my senior year AP Lit class. Apparently, Cornell contacted my high school and asked them to try the book out too. It sucked, lol.
