I'm planning to take physics 6A with schriver and english 4W during session C...do you guys think this is doable? (i looked up shriver and he's supposed to be extremely good as well as sort of easy). what about english 4w?

english 4w in a regualr quarter is 4 papers plus some in class writing, so you will be writing nearly a paper a week. determine how that will be for yourself.

are you an english major? reason im asking is, why are you taking english 4W? There are other ways to get the writing 2 requirement done. Ive heard that seminars are a better way to get the requirement out of the way. ANyways, I might take physics and a social analysis GE over the summer. I don't think it'll be too bad as long as we keep up with physics and don't procrastinate on papers.

*btw, shriver has a difficulty of ~6 on bruinwalk. I have DEFINITELY seen physics professors, for the 6 series, with lower difficulty levels (~4-5).

nope i'm not but i do want to take at least one english course while i'm here because i am thinking about MAYBE (just maybe) majoring in english. i was at least considering this option before so i just wanna see how the classes are. but are there any other writing 2 classes you would suggest? i was going ot take a classic writing but it interefered with physics and i dont really know of many writing 2 classes

english composition 100W is supposedly not too bad and really useful for all majors. Seriously though, seminars are a way better way to fulfill the requirement (its just hard to get into them because seminars are in high demand and are capped at 20 students).

well i just signed up for 100W. so thanks for your advice! :D. do you know if its hard or a lot of work because im plannign to take another class in addition to this one

i haven't taken 100W yet, and i found out about the class through some senior friends. Im guessing the difficulty/rigor of the course is highly dependent on the professor teaching it.
