<p>This is basically what I’ve sort of, kind of figured out:</p>
<p>There are two six week sessions (session A and session C) when classes are offered. Session A starts in June and ends in July whereas session C starts in August and ends in September, before school starts.</p>
<p>Yes, as a transfer student you can indeed take Summer classes. The schedule as well as the option to add classes is available under “enrollment menu” on your ursa.ucla.edu account.</p>
<p>What classes you take is dependent upon your major. I finished all of my lower division English classes so I took a look at the course list under my department and picked two upper division English classes to take.</p>
<p>If you’re looking for financial aid for summer classes then I think you may be out of luck. Yesterday was the deadline for the financial aid application for summer. </p>

Not necessarily true (about the Financial Aid). I confirmed my application just a couple of seconds ago and saw this:</p>
<p>Summer Aid will be available to entering and continuing undergraduate and graduate students who are enrolled at least half time (6 units undergraduates; 4 units graduates) during the UCLA summer sessions. Deadline to apply is April 30, 2011. Limited funding will be available for applications submitted after the deadline. </p>
