I may be going to summer school for gym and I am really worried that colleges may look down upon it. I just want to know if colleges really care if I go to summer school for gym, which is apparently not an academic class and also if colleges get to see your senior year first semester average.

yes they see everything pertaining to high school academics

It's gym...they won't care.

are you taking gym to get it out of the way so you can take another class or because you took a class and gym requirement is still needed, or because you failed gym?

If its to get it out of the way, so you can take another class, that is a good thing. My D wanted to do that because she needs another semester of gym and this way she could take another full year course.

So, don't fret. As long as you do something in the summer, and yes, colleges will see first semester senior grades, as well as later transcript

thanks for answering.

" I am really worried that colleges may look down upon it."

Why would they??

if it's a requirement for grad, colleges won't care

Unless it's a remedial class, it will only work to your advantage.

I wish our school district offered non-remedial summer PE. Soph year it leaves a gap in the other semester with no good one-semster classes to take. What a waste.
