I have a question about summer school. If I become a transient student at a college near my home(which is NOT my degree-granting institution), and take classes there, will they be viewed more unfavorably than classes taken at my degree-granting institution? Or will they be, just like all other grades, included in the all-important LSDAS GPA?

I’m only 95% sure on this, but I think LSAC counts any grades earned BEFORE your first BA or BS. So your summer grades will probably be included.

I’d be receiving credit through the school near my home, which would transfer back to my degree-granting institution as pass/fail credit. However, I will retain a record of my grades at that university, and I think they will count towards the LSDAS GPA.

The grades should count in your LSAC calculated GPA, so long as you have not yet earned your BS or BA, and each law school to which you apply will see copies of each of your transcripts, which will show where you earned each credit and each grade included in your LSAC GPA.

I am just finishing my sophomore year. I think I will be applying to law school and am just beginning to investigate the process.
If I read this thread correctly, each law school will calculate my GPA and this will include all the courses I have taken - first college, second college, and the summer courses taken at my local state university.
Is this correct?
Thank you
