Summer Science Program 2016

turned in the application yesterday…wish myself good luck…

Oh yeah, does anyone know if I should include my non-STEM activities on my SSP application?

@tonystarkofwinterfell If there’s room you should probably go for it. Otherwise, leave them off in favor of STEM activities

Does anyone else feel like the short answer character limits are debilitatingly stringent? I can hardly get in anything meaningful

Yeah…And you can’t exceed the limit cuz the system will cut off the answers…

Hey guys! Does anyone know if the teacher evaluation deadline is the same as the student application deadline? Or is the teacher evaluation deadline a few days later like it is for RSI and Canada/USA Mathcamp?

the same as the application deadline (they won’t review the materials unless they receive the evaluation)

hey i did not fill out the financial aid form. could i still send it in?

For our PSAT Reading/Writing score under “Test Scores,” should we give our combined score (i.e. reading section + writing section)? Also, they say to report the highest scores, but since the PSATs were different formats… should we report this year’s or last year’s? (if last year’s were higher)

@angie414 I emailed them about this and they said to give the scores out of 760 if you give this year’s scores and to give whichever scores are higher

Thank you for the help!! @essyr2017 I just checked the application again, and now instead of “PSAT Reading/Writing” it says “PSAT Reading” haha

Do you know about how long it’ll take to verify “test score reports”? I sent them my reports by email 2 weeks ago and got confirmation, but I just updated my app on the online portal.

If I report a 5 on AP Chemistry, would it be counter-intuitive to report a 770 on Chemistry SAT II? I’m thinking of just not reporting it lol

@coffeeaddicted 770 isn’t too bad; if you still have a lot of room, I’d report it, but if you already have a lot of other stuff, don’t bother.

I got a 4 on AP Stats in freshman year- should I still put it on or leave it off?

I noticed they extended the short answer limits to 1500 (and 2500 for one) right after I mentioned the limits on this thread. Maybe they look at this thread.

They extended it? I had already cut some of my answers down… tear

Also, does anyone know if there’s any way to check whether your teacher submitted a rec or not? I know that my physics teacher did, but I’m not sure about my math teacher; I sent him the recommendation request in January, so I don’t know if he remembers.

Also, can we just not submit subject test scores if we want to? I’m not too proud of my SAT Bio score (770).

@tonystarkofwinterfell You can check if your teachers submitted recs in the Application Status section on the website, and it’ll tell you who submitted their recommendations and when they did so. Also, I don’t think you have to submit any scores if you don’t want to.

that’s a good news, but international students can’t enjoy it…
