@penguin8910 I actually started counting down the days today lol
@shanghai001 Wow, you sound really qualified, and I’m sorry to hear you were rejected. Thank you for sharing your stats anyway and good luck on finding other things to do this summer!
@shanghai001 thanks so much, that info is really helpful. I don’t know of any programs where the deadlines haven’t passed, but good luck finding one.
Anyone want to discuss stats and stuff lol? I’d rather get a good idea of where I stand before waiting so long.
I know right? SSP sounds so awesome…and it combines the two subjects I love most…too bad it’s so selective. 8-|
Does anyone know how seriously they take the one math one science teacher recommendation?
Because I chose the 3 teachers who I thought knew me well and they all happen to teach math lol.
Any wait-listed internationals heard back from SSP yet?
Still freaking out. I had science olympiad to occupy me for the past few weeks but that’s over.
@shanghai001 gosh damn, you are from Shanghai? I bet you can go to colleges like IVY. Sorry that you did not get in, you sound over-qualified like, really. But yeah, good like on your applications for Summer and colleges.
Has anyone heard anything? I was accepted to FSU YSP and need to notify them by March 29th but would like to hear from SSP first.
@coffeeaddicted I don’t think SSP domestic acceptances will come out until April… Is there a way to confirm your YSP acceptance but still be able to cancel and get a full refund? I did that for EFL…
@essyr2017 that’s what I plan on doing I just feel kinda bad. Who knows, maybe I’ll get rejected from SSP? (Actually more likely than not, although I think I have a shot)
@coffeeaddicted I mean if you cancel early enough to get a full refund, they can probably get someone off the waitlist, so it should be okay.
@coffeeaddicted you can try emailing SSP, asking them for a rushed decision?
@tonystarkofwinterfell I could, but I’d rather not bother them. Plus I realized I probably couldn’t pay the SSP fee if I got in (unless I did some hardcore fundraising). I’ll probably go to the other program regardless, but if I get into SSP and find a way to go the deposit for the other program is only $30 so it doesn’t matter lol
Two weeks-ish until decisions!!
cries
I can’t wait for decisions to come out this is stressing me out so much :((
Does anyone know how much weight the SSP people put into test scores? I mean I have several national/state awards and good GPA/Rank, and I feel like I wrote some great essays (albeit too enthusiastic?), but the only thing I could submit was my PSAT (+ APs 3 4’s 2 5’s, and SAT IIs Bio-800, M2-780), and the PSAT score was pretty crappy tbh cause I haven’t taken anything else. I’m taking the ACT on April 9th but by then we’ll have decisions.
ugh my test scores suck and im going to cry.
@usastudent101 I think you’ll be fine–your subject test & AP scores show that you’re accomplished in specific disciplines. I’d say that the SAT/PSAT matter the least out of all of these tests, actually, since they’re more general in nature.
