Summer Science Program 2019

rejected

I was accepted to astrophysics

My D got accepted in Biochem at UCSD!!!

Accepted to biochemistry at UCSD. I also got into YSP at UC Davis… Can someone tell me about daily schedule at SSP, how research topics are chosen, how much time in lab or with professors, or any other information? And can anyone offer any insight on which to choose if I’m interested in plants?

Admitted!!! (Biochem UCSD)

Nvm, Purdue

I was rejected from biochemistry :frowning:
Has everyone received an email from SSP?

I think most decisions came out today. because in the email it said that there are many people waiting on wait list.

What does the website say if you’re waitlisted?
I’m holding out for hope a little…

What are the chances of getting off the alternate list? Are there ways to increase the chances?

Were you waitlisted? If yes, what did the admission decision show up as?

Rejected, no email

Darn.

I didn’t get an email. It just says “alternate list” under Admission decision.

I was accepted for Astro!!! Yes this is unbelievable; I was an alternate for YSPA so this is totally unexpected. Also no email.

Which campus were u accepted at @Jedelm23 ? I was accepted to the Boulder campus!

congrats @Jedelm23! SSP is a great program (and viewed as better than YSPA: better reputation), surprised you got SSP but not YSPA

rejected from both YSPA and SSP… rip me

any tips for future apps?

I’m curious, y’all;
How much time did you spend on the short essays?
I don’t think I polished them enough, since I wrote most of them on impulse in a few hours.

@heather26 I got into New Mexico, too bad I won’t be seeing you. Good luck in Colorado!
@16 Thank you. Yeah honestly, I have no idea how I got into SSP over YSPA since I thought my YSPA essays were way better, but it’s a crapshoot. I think my recs were really good since I built up a strong relationship with my teachers and they knew how limited my opportunities were (I didn’t have any research experience). Good luck on future apps and I know you’ll find a great way to spend the summer.

I got in to new mexico!
