Let’s have late-night nonsleep-ers party at SSP!!

i never sleep, even now, so yay!!

Lol same here. I don’t sleep. Not gonna sleep for another 3 weeks…ap exams…gahhh

ugh yeah…

aps, then 2 weeks, then SSP =DDDDD woot haha.

…Dang.

You can cross my name off the list, I think. SSP Socorro starts the week I have finals, which I was stupid enough to not realize before, and I had no choice but to apply to only Socorro because I would have had to leave midway through Ojai for four days.

:|

you’re missing out on a big opportunity =(
but don’t give up yet.
ask your teachers to take the final in advance.
(if you are up to it)

@cadillac

I really want to, and if I can convince my parents, I’ll try. But it’s likely that I won’t be able to for reasons apart from missing days for finals, so-- someone on the waitlist will probably get my spot soon, at least :D

Anyone going to Ojai an avid frisbee player? I heard that frisbee was a big thing at SSP and I was wondering if I should bring my cleats ;)

looking forward to baskeball. By frisbee, do you mean ultimate frisbee? (: that game’s awesome too!

Yep I mean ultimate. It always helps me get away from the stress of school, and it appears that SSP is even worse in terms of workload :/

but the workload seems like itll actually be worth it. seems like well get to learn a lot of new things, which is always good.

since the workload is in areas we enjoy(i assume) it probably won’t be too bad! :)

I’m sure it’ll be hard, but it’ll be epic insanity (or maybe insanity is too strong?)! It’ll help me prepare for sleepless nights in robotics next year!

Just curious: Has anyone who applied for financial aid received their enrollment documents yet? I’m just afraid it may have been lost in the mail or something.

mine came along with the acceptance letter, joeschmidt.

hmm, this is something ive only thought about lightly, but how much do you guys think ssp actually helps attendees get into college (not just if the people get in, if ssp is a cause of it)?

It probably helps a lot. I mean it definitely looks good (6 weeks of learning and research during summer). And I think you will actually learn a lot of things. I mean it is a pretty well known program, so when you apply to colleges I’m sure they will recognize it and go “ooooooh” :P

probably doesn’t help that much- after all, you are paying to attend

anyway, i love playing ultimate frisbee, though i’m not terribly great at it (i can only throw backhand…)
hopefully i will have the opportunity to run in the mornings, and hopefully i will take advantage of it, because it would really benefit me to do so x_x

anyone planning on taking a musical instrument? I really wish I could take my cello because it’s gonna be 6 lost weeks in preparation for state tryouts, but that’s just not feasible…

I was thinking about bringing my viola since I’m just driving to SSP, but I’m not sure how much free time we’ll have to practice. And 6 weeks of not practicing is def. not a great thing either…

Lol I don’t have any musical instruments.
I might go run a couple times…since I am on cross country…
Has anyone ever done an extension to the research project at SSP, and submitted it into Intel/ISEF/Siemens ever?
