Summer Science Program (SSP)

i second azaz's motion

I think I ****ed them off by emailing them my essays at 11:57 on the 23rd

I got an e-mail from an alum telling me that it was a great experience for her, and that she would love me to finish my application. She, also, gave me her contact info in case I had any questions...

The thing is, though, I mailed in my application a week or two ago...They should have gotten it by now.

How can I check to see if they received it?

Same thing happened to me...an alum emailed me....I should send my app soon, but I think they would email you telling you that they recieved your app....but then again I dont know for sure...

That alum e-mail thing is interesting. You should probably send a letter to the executive director Richard Bowdon asking if your application has been received, especially if you've not received confirmation from him yet.

Stats? I'm not much of a stats person. I don't think SSP is much of a stats program either. As long as they generally fall into the top range of scores. It's rather a self-selective program. Most people who apply have a decent chance of getting in. (And I'm avoiding answering the question because, quite frankly, I don't think you all should be worrying about it.)

Do you think that I should mail him a letter or e-mail him?

I only say this because of my own selfish desire to know ASAP, and thinking e-mail will go faster.

I think she meant e-mail. That would definately be more efficient, and if you are missing something, it'll give you more time to get it in. email doesn't kill trees either...

Lol. Great. I'll email him now.

<2 weeks left before we find out :)

12 days...

...for early deadline. We regular deadline people have to stick it out for a bit longer...

It might be earlier actually. They said they would let us know by March 23.

stop making me excited :)

It's like, I basically know that I'm not going to be accepted. My stats aren't amazing and neither were my essays (I wrote them a bit too much just "answering the question" and didn't make them personal enough). On top of that, I'm a sophomore. I'm just still looking at that sliver of a chance of getting in and... it's nerve-wracking still.

I hope I get accepted....It sounds sooo fun.

where does it say they'd let us know "by March 23"?
