Summer Seminar 2005!

Besides, you're going to get screamed at for knowing the rates if your squad mates don't, so it's a catch-22.
If one of you doesn't you ALL don't, silly. =P
I was first session A 3 2 and had a BLAST. I'm planning on getting into law, though, so that and my love for big cities and roaming them made me take my NROTC scholarship.
marines- were you with the squad leader that took you whoknowswhere in the middle of the night?
Are there any deltas around? You guys were NUTS!

Thanks KateLewis--she got it in today. We really hadn't planned on this one--she's applied to others. But, I realized last night that she could fit it in her crazy summer--so it was sort of last minute. It's such a simple appl compared to CGA's!

heartcross,
Smart move! As KateLewis mentioned, USNA uses rolling admissions for Summer Seminar, so the sooner the better. If your daughter runs at altitude she should be in good shape for the summer program. Good Luck!

Have the invitations for NASS been sent already? If so would an applicant that applied early still receive an invitation later, near April?

heartcross,
how long did it take to recieve the invitation, form when u applied?

I fear I mislead you--she just put the application IN, not that she GOT into the program! Their email said, "no later than mid-April"

no later than mid-april for the aplication deadline or a reply, becasue through previous posts i guess they send you a LOR if you do not get accepted. Thank you for your post!
ZN

You should get a reply around Mid-April. I got my LOR a few days after April 15 last year.

Last year my daughter applied online to Summer Seminar during the first week of February. She was notified by letter of her acceptance to USNA Summer Seminar approximately one month later, the first week in March. The acceptance letter states "Due to the popularity and high demand of our Summer Seminar program, submit your deposit as soon as possible, as we can only accommodate 600 students in each of the three sessions." We sent in the paperwork and deposit within days of receiving the acceptance letter.

Set up a filing system for college applications, testing, letters of recommendation, awards, nominations, DODMERB, NROTC, Summer Seminar, etc. KEEP COPIES OF EVERYTHING YOU SUBMIT. I would also recommend purchasing a phone/fax machine if you don't already have one. Having the capability to fax documents makes life much easier!

Good Luck!

Got my acceptance letter to Session 1 today! (I applied Febuary 7th)

So here it is:

Session 1- Louisville, Kentucky.

i got accepted today too!

session 1

Well I guess I'll see you there chanman... I have a question to ask someone that has been to the Naval Academy Summer Seminar; So we report Saturday, right? Well, are we allowed to attend a church service Saturday evening or Sunday morning? Cause I'm Catholic and it's kind of looked down on by my church when you skip a week. If you aren't allowed, then it dosent matter. I was just wondering.

jhoopster87,
dd attended Protestant church service held in the Academy chapel on Sunday morning during Summer Seminar. She said the Catholic service preceded the Protestant service that morning.

i'll see u there jhoopster

Anyone have any idea on how their "demographic represention" works, what demographics they are tring to reach?
ZN

Hi, all! Has anyone been accepted into NASS yet that applied in mid-Feb?

Is there a minimum set of criteria (beyond what they say in website about min 3.0, good health) they are looking for in the online applications?

Also, were you notified online or via letter?

THANKS!

I think you need to wait a little longer. I didn't hear until late April...didn't make it last year...I think they tend to look for geographic and gender diversity. A girl from my class got in with lesser demos than mine. the notifications come by regular mail. But anyway good luck!

i found out in mid-april last year, and i applied on february 1st. i found out by regular mail. most people don't find out till april. good luck!

i got mine early may, applied mid feb.

Thanks all - I guess we'll just hold tight until April/May! Another quick ques: Does the Blue and Gold officer have any influence in NASS acceptance?
