<p>As a parent of a summer seminar attendee, I’m looking for any information or advice from cadets or other attendees that may be useful. Thank you for your help.</p>

<p>I went last year and it was an AWESOME experience. Feel free to ask me questions.</p>
<p>Was it mostly informative or were they trying to figure out who was up for it physically? Did you get much out of the classes? Did you feel connected to the other candidates? Was it easy to make a decision after leaving there? Thanks so much for your help!</p>
<p>We picked up our summer seminar participant, he declared that he was going to go to school there, and in the blink of an eye he’s now a firstie. Within two years of summer seminar he had his jump wings and was doing rolls in a F-16D. But the decision to apply and attend has to be left up to your son or daughter, it’s just too hard if THEY are not self-motivated to see it through.</p>
<p>I think SS is mainly informative - shows different aspects of academy life. Obviously the facilities, but talks about the stuff you’ll learn there if a student. The schedule is fairly full so you don’t have much downtime - but in BCT you don’t either. I don’t think they tap you that physically - but you do experience the affects of the altitude. You get to do a practice CFA which is invaluable - lets you know what you need to work on for the real one. Doolie for a day - gives a little bit of an idea what BCT is like - but not completely. Go into it with the attitude of I want to learn all I can about this place.<br>

<p>Thanks everyone!!! I know it’s all about HIM making this decision - it’s a pretty big one. As his mom, I just want to know all about it. We’ve had quite a few military men in the family but, none who have gone the academy route and I’m just so curious and interested in it all.</p>
