Has anyone been accepted into summer session yet? Wondering if perhaps those were the last to be admitted? (middle of the pack stats)?

I got into summer a few weeks ago with a 3.3 and a 1980. Probably attending!

My daughter applied for summer session the second week of September. She is a border line applicant. Her gpa is 3.6 and her SAT scores are 1200/1840. I have a feeling she will be waiting until the end of January to find out. Hopefully, it will be worth the wait.

Good luck to you!!

I applied specifically for summer so i could get some credits in. But i heard before thanksgiving :)

@BlueHen89 my daughter has similar stats and applied at the same time. She has friends that have higher stats that got into UP and friends with lower stats that got into branch campuses, so I am hoping that borderline/summer session are the last to hear. I hope the wait is worth it also! Good luck to you too!

I got accepted into Smeal starting in the summer…I have a 3.1 gpa and 1500 sat
but very good extras…Also I have attended camps at penn state and my school is very close with the school

S2’s girlfriend was admitted summer session college of educ. in mid-November. S2 was admitted summer session college of COMM just today, but the biggest variation in admit time tends to be the College, not your stats or application time. Keep telling yourself that the apparent randomness of all this is just PSU’s introduction to life at a large university~

ATTENTION EVERYONE ON HERE: I am a current freshman at PSU who did summer session. Trust me when I say it was hands down the best summer of my life so far. I made my best friends over the summer and had so much fun!! Also, do LEAP, the Learning Edge Academic Program they offer because it is the best! You all will have so much fun. Do not think that going to school in the summer is a bad thing or that you will be missing out on things back home. I bet you a million dollars none of you will regret choosing to come in the summer. The classes are fairly easy and teachers are pretty laid back. They want you to do well! I LOVE Penn State so far and I know you all will too! Hope you guys will all be future Nittany Lions! WE ARE.

My daughter applied undecided with the summer session option. I am glad to hear you enjoyed it. She is actually hoping to start in the summer.

Is anyone doing summer session and if so do you know what LEAP you want to do?? Thanks! It would be nice to know if anyone is doing the same LEAP as me!

I did LEAP last summer and it was a great experience. The ability to take credits, learn campus, and adjust to college life makes this program awesome. I highly recommend it to anyone.

I just got accepted to summer session. I think I am going to enroll in the LEAP program but I’m not sure what “pride” to do because I went in undecided. I was thinking about philosophy and speech or possibly life sciences? I was also looking at the Agriculture one. What are others doing?

I have a 3.41 UW, 3.59 W, 1610 composite, 200+ hr community service, Varsity tennis 4 seasons and captain this year, out of state, checked yes on Summer Session… Should I probably get in?

In state here.

Weighted: 3.37
SAT: 2060
Lots of ECs but Penn State doesn’t care too much apparently.

I’m DYING to know :[
Summer Session sounds like a blast

did you just do the regular summer session or leap?

Hi, I just got accepted for summer 2012. I was wondering if the summer sessions means that you attend in fall and spring as well? And does that mean you go on summer holidays in may like everyone else. I hope somebody could help me with these questions (intl student btw)

Summer session means you start school in the summer [i don’t know the exact dates], and continue to have school in the fall and spring semesters. I don’t know what holidays you’d have over the summer session, though.

First day of class for summer session is June 26, and it runs through early August (I’m thinking the 10th) with the 4th of July off of classes. Fall semester move-in is the weekend of August 25th, when you will relocate from your summer dorm room to your permanent placement for the fall/spring semester

I second those saying summer session is the best! It truly is! My best friends are those from summer session. It is a great way to test the waters before you are with 40,000+ other people! I loved it so much I applied to be a mentor… trust me it is worth it :)
