Hi, I was accepted at Penn State University Park, but it states that I have to attend a summer session. Do I have to go the summer session? I’ll be working the entire summer and I need to save $ for tuition etc. What can I do? Thank you!
Yes, you are admitted for summer, so you are expected to accept that offer or pass. The only people who can be moved from summer to fall are those with extraordinary circumstances (usually related to academic pursuits, like an overseas internship or study abroad in an academic pursuit) that have come up after application, not those who just prefer another term.
You won’t be able to change to a fall start at UP. You could probably start in the fall at a PSU branch campus, but then you’d have to stay there for the first 2 years. Your other choice is to choose another college. Were you accepted to other schools?
You could possibly get a summer job and for summer session take the bare minimum amount of classes, and whichever ones you can put online do so. That way at least you can indeed have a job and save some money.
