Summer Storage

Is there a an air conditioned storage unit near campus that a lot of people use during the summer or is U-Trucking cheaper to store with?

UTrucking is probably the most expensive.

I know a lot of people that split storage units with friends (for less than half the cost of UTrucking… and this includes the cost of a rental car to move stuff to said storage unit) a few miles from campus. The other alternative is to find friends that are staying in StL over the summer and store with them. A bunch of my friends “rent out” space in their basement each summer for dirt cheap - a big win-win for all.

Splitting a public storage unit with friends is very cheap and convenient if you have a car. Avoid UTrucking if you can.

There are actually quite a few climate controlled storage units in the area.

I did a quick search on SelfStorage.com and found 12 storage facilities in the area which you can then filter by amenity on the left side. Here is the URL: [Saint Louis self-storage facilities - SelfStorage.com](20 Cheap Storage Units in St. Louis, MO (from $21))

Hope this helps!

I used A-American self storage. They have a college student package for the summer that costs about $100 total. They’ll also send a truck that you can load your stuff on to and they’ll drive it to the storage place (3 miles from campus). You’ll have to load and unload the stuff, and also get it back to campus yourself in the fall.
