Hi guys, I'm planning on retaking my SAT's this october and I would like to get at least a 2100+ (although I am aiming for as close to a 2400 as humanly possible, personally I think I can definitely achieve the 2100+)

Last time (and the only time) I took the SAT's was as a sophomore (spring of 2009) and I got a 2060 (740 CR) (680 M) (640 W) and I didn't do any prep (probably a mistake looking back)

Well the 24th i get back from a year abroad and its time to cram this summer in time for one last test session before I send in the college apps.

I want to get in as much studying I can before the test comes along, and since its the summer I will have plenty of time (a job as a camp counselor isn't going to stress me out to much). The thing is that I keep seeing people post that two many hours weekly or daily is too much. Could someone specify reasons for this and how many hours I could cram in without it being too much (id like to aim for that 2400, its a HUGE reach but high goals are never a bad thing). I don't see myself burning out, and if I do I'll just take guitar breaks. I plan on just doing a bunch of practice questions and then as the test approaches simulating the test timing and environment.

While studying is it even worth it to spend a lot of time on the writing? I know It's rather low, but I heard colleges don't actually look at it. I will be applying as a science major so getting the math up to mid 700s seems more important...

Is like an hour or hour and a half a day ok?
