So It's a week into May. Haven't heard anything from UW regarding my application for summer yet... Unofficial transcript isn't loading, but my application information still says:

"Thank you for applying for admission to the Seattle campus of the University of Washington for summer quarter 2012. We will inform you by postal mail when a decision is made on your application. If further information is needed, we will contact you via the email address listed below. Please make sure your email address is valid and check this site occasionally for information concerning your application. This message will not change unless additional information is required or until a final admission decision is made."

so I guess there's still some hope. Really not feeling too confident about this...not nearly as confident as I was with my Ohio State University application.

When do you guys think decisions will be mailed out?

Haha, hopefully it’s soon. The quarter starts on June 18th… and I need to get financial aid and job stuff sorted out as well. I’m checking the mail as well as MyUW every day! I swear I’m being so paranoid about this application…haha. Just means a lot to me.

Good luck to you, if you don’t mind me asking what was your transfer GPA and are you transferring from a community college or a 4 year? Is it in-state or out?

I’m in the same boat, but I’ll be applying for Winter Quarter 2012 and I just want to see some comparison.

UW Tacoma lets anyone with a WA State CC AAS-DTA and a 2.75 GPA into their school. The reason? Their projected enrollment was supposed to be something like 10k FTE (Full-Time Equivalent), but is somewhere around 3.5K.

But remember, once you get there the classes are still super tough.

Also, what are you trying to study? (out of curiosity) because for transfers your prospective major can cause you to be more likely to be either accepted or rejected.

I was hoping Electrical Engineering (I’d be admitted as a pre-engineering major if I got in, as EE does not have admissions for summer), but I listed Astronomy as a second choice major. I’m fairly confident that I will not be admitted for EE, so I’m hoping that my personal statement, positive grade trend, life experiences, work experience, and rigor of coursework will help out with getting in for Astronomy… I will most likely switch to a general Physics degree once admitted, but I still have to get admitted first…

UWT doesn’t offer Electrical Engineering, and the UWB campus’ EE program is not accredited by the ABET yet.

Don’t trip about the UWB having ABET accreditation. I think we’ve been over it before. The accreditation process is collaborative and they will have it, providing retroactive accreditation to people who earn it in the meantime.

Also, today UW Bothell will officially begin it’s Latino Student Union.
