Summer Ventures in Science and Mathematics?

You are welcome! Haha. Wow, I know. That was super fast! I’m glad for you, and at the same time, jealous. :slight_smile: hopefully I will hear something from them soon! thank you!

I finally got my info for UNCC today!
I have these classes to choose from;

Field Biology and Ecology

Topics in Biology

Ventures in Optical Engineering

Quantitative Methods in Rocks and Minerals

Mathematical Evolutions

Practical Applications of Advanced Mathematics

A Real World View of Applied Math and Statistics

I will most definitely be putting the Biology classes at the top of my list. As for numbers 3 and 4, I haven’t a clue.

On the APP website: “we are expecting some addition fundig, so alternates there is a very good chance you will receive an invitation!”

hopefully this is for every campus!!!

@chaeyeong94: Wow that’s great!! :)

I am experiencing difficulty trying to decide what class to take. Us Charlotte kids only have 1 class a day! And it’s 5 hours long!

@bandgeek96 For demo,my top three are: Forensics, Problem Solving, and Scientific Inquiry. For research, my top three are: Climate Science, Ethical Hacking, and Quantitative Paleobiology.

@nate42 About time! You have a good selection of classes to choose from. You will definitely enjoy the experience!

@mlover: Haha yeah, it seems to me that Charlotte was the last one to send out info. Yes, we have a abundant amount of classes to choose from but we are only assigned to one of them.
I still have a lot of thinking to do but these are the classes I want in order;

Topics in Biology

Field Biology and Ecology

Ventures in Optical Engineering

A Real World View of Applied Math and Statistics

I’m hoping in get one of the top two. 5 hours a day of “A Real World View of Applied Math and Statistics” would be a bit unbearable…

I was accepted to NCCU but I haven’t gotten my info yet

@slachgar: Wow! That’s odd. Were you originally a finalist?

Yes I was, have you heard about anybody else from NCCU and if they have gotten their topics yet?

@slachgar

I was originally a finalist for NCCU and I never received my topic. I also sent in my letter declining the offer, however, so maybe they got that and decided not to bother sending me the info.

I never posted my subjects for everyone to see. I was actually disappointed that there were not any major chemistry classes at UNCC. I’m more into anatomy/physiology and molecular biology, so I think that I would’ve declined because I wasn’t satisfied with the courses.

@evan: Yes I agree, there are only 2 Biology classes and a Optics class that seems somewhat interesting. But the rest are Math classes… I might die if I have to put up with math for 5 hours a day.

Do they let you know your class assignments before the final date to accept or decline…or at least before the start of camp? Or, do you make your class requests and find out your assignments the day you set foot on campus for the 4 week stay?
T

My paperwork from ECU told me the classes I was taking. My friend at school still hasn’t received her info from NCCU.

Just wanted to post to say that I received my NCCU info yesterday, so be on the lookout if you were selected for NCCU.

Oh wait, I got my classes today. I think that I am going to try and get the biotechnology and biomedical research slot.

@slachgar: AHHHH you are soooooo lucky! I’m guessing you are going to ECU? I wanted to go there and be apart of the medical program. But instead I am being sent to Charlotte :(

I am actually going to NCCU but apparently they had the Biomed slots too!

@slachgar: Wow that’s awesome! I think everyone can agree that Charlotte’s course offering is very lacking this year. No Chemistry or Med classes…
