Summer

Hey guys I'm a rising senior.

Should I volunteer at a local hospital or work at a restaurant this summer?

I have like 6 hours of community service...but I could also use the money. =D

Or maybe I can do both. Work on weekday afternoons and volunteer in the morning on weekends? But then what about college visits during the weekend...hm I'll need to rearrange something.

Or how about working M, W, F and volunteering T and H each morning. The weekends will be open for chillin', apps, visits, w/e. But mostly the chillin'.

Suggestions? Advice?

Thanks

It depends on your interests...say you want to major in biology, then the hospital one would count for more. But if you can do both, go for it

The restuarant job won't typically improve your chances at competitive schools. It is your decision though.

i'm sure colleges would appreciate you doing as much as you can, but if it was between one or the other, i would chose volunteering. :D

I don't know if you guys have actually volunteered at hospitals. It is the most boring, useless job ever. If you're going to volunteer, at least volunteer where you are actually needed.

it's only boring if there are a) no other kids there or b) adults who actually give a damn about the volunteer rules.

Do what you will have fun doing. I'd do both.

thanks for the input

i think i'm doing both

if one thing ends up sucking...then at least it'll only be every other day?

or you could just stop doing it lol
