does anyone think they might be releasing decisions in alphabetical order, based on last name?
I know someone with the last name at the end of the alphabet that heard yesterday. So I don’t think so. I think more likely when you applied and they are getting to them in order.

To what school? I applied to Watson. Maybe they are more behind in school you applied to.
Or maybe they are reviewing them in batches high school to high school. Since grades at one school are not the same as at others.
Or maybe they are doing the easy admits, easy defers first. I really don’t know.
Have any rejections been reported yet? I’m not sure.
I applied to Harpur for neuroscience. I have pretty decent stats (97 gpa, great extracurriculars and a really good common app essay) so I’m not sure if they’re releasing based on grades. My friend who attends the same hs as me got in last night.
Yeah I am not sure. Maybe it is just Harpur has a lot more applicants to get through and they aren’t up to those that applied by 10/29 yet whereas Watson is up to 11/1.
It could be the applications are on piles on the AO’s desks and they pick one up and address it and move on to next. Maybe there is a randomness to it in that it depends what pile they are working on and which pile they pick up next.
I really don’t know.
Sounds like you have little to worry about though, especially if in state.

a friend of mine was rejected two days ago
Mine has been like that for a while now. Still no response. EA to SOM applies mid September
Ugh…oh well. Maybe no decision tonight then. I guess it can’t be longer than a week.
Let’s hope for the best. A decision and acceptance!!
