I don't get it. Ive gone through a few of the forums here and have been wondering for a long time, why kids don't think of UB.

Basic facts, listen up:
UB was the one who created "SUNY 2020" and in effect, has been receiving most funds from the state for it's "UB 2020" plan.

UB's endowment is the largest for publics in the northeast - $761 million, even higher than Rutgers. UB pulls in over $330 million in research each year, the highest of any SUNY. For liberal arts programs though, we have one of the top 10 best English departments in the country, top 10 geography, and we have over 300 majors, from international trade to Italian to industrial engineering to neuroscience to pharmacy to architecture.

UB has 3 huge campuses, and the medical campus is getting a $375 million medical school finished by 2016.

UB is in a research consortium with 2 other universities: Harvard and MIT. Guess who leads it?

UB and Stony Brook are members of the AAU, the most prestigious organization for universities in North America. But, UB was inducted in 1989, SBU in 2001.

UB's athletics teams are top in SUNY and are going by the "New York Bulls" now, Just like the Cal Bears at Berkeley.

UB's alumni include 2 heads of government, 2 astronauts, Wolf freaking Blitzer, CEO's of paramount pictures and the Weinstein company (big Hollywood right there), academy award winners, Emmy winners, NFL players and Super Bowl winners, and big time academics including Nobel prize recipients and countless Pulitzer Prize winners. Yeah.

UB has history and was founded in 1846, the south campus is absolutely beautiful and was modeled after Trinity College in Dublin. It's our little Hogwarts.

Colors are blue and white, damn right.

To me, being an out of stater who was accepted to Michigan, BC, and UCLA, UB was an obvious choice. To prospective students, I'd suggest looking more into UB. Because of UB, I've worked for US Congress in DC, done research and published as an undergraduate and have gotten paid a lot for it, got to go to Europe for a Model European Union summit, worked for the Fed in Chicago, and now working for the State Department in the UK.

I love this university, and so should you.
