suny cortland or suny oneonta

i am transferring from a community college to either suny cortland or suny oneonta. i'm worried about transferring and if it would be difficult making friends as a transfer. i'm also looking for a school with a great nightlife which i didn't get to experience due to living at home. i've heard that at many schools you need to be involved in the greek life to actually have a social life and that is something that i am not interested in. can someone offer any advice about any of these issues and obviously what school is better suny cortland or oneonta?

I go to to Oneonta now, and it’s probably the better school academically of the two. When I was looking at schools I was between Cortland and Oneonta, but Cortland was very ugly, and oneonta has a great little town and the campus is really nice. Nightlife is definitely great hear…a lott of people are always going out thursday/friday/saturday…bars are packed! Greek life is pretty big here, but theres plenty of people that aren’t in it and go out and have a great time too. On weekends, people usually go to whatever parties are going on around 10 and then people dont head to the bars till 12ish. It’s a lot of fun…I love it!
