I have been accepted to both Geneseo and Binghamton and now I have to make a decision. I was basically set on Binghamton but now i'm thinking more about it. I'm afraid that its sort of a boring school, with everyone just focused on their studies. I like the location better though. Im also used to a very small school so I'm not sure if Binghamton is TOO big. I'm your typical cheerleader girly-girl type, so what do you think would be best for me?

You have a little bit of time - have you visited either campus? Do they offer overnights to accepted students?

Funny thing, my AP Biology teacher was a cheerleader at Geneseo.

But I would definitely choose Binghamton if I was accepted to both. It’s a much stronger school than Geneseo, and it’s not a boring school at all. It’s like any college, there are smart people, there are party people, all different sorts.

I would definately go visit both schools. They are in totally different kinds of areas. Geneseo is alo highly ranked and had to get into now.

I have visited both schools and I still can’t decide.

What did you like about each of them? What did you dislike?

We can all have opinions, but it is hard to know what is best for you without knowing more. hugs

When did you hear from Geneseo? My daughter hasn’t heard yet.

I visited both last summer and loved Geneseo, while Binghamton was merely eh. Academically, my impression is that Binghamton is stronger in math and the sciences, while Geneseo is stronger in humanities, especially education. Size is also a big factor, as Binghamton is about double Geneseo’s size. I’d say to visit again if possible, but otherwise it just depends on what you feel fits you better.

Even though Geneseo is a liberal arts school the science program is very strong. Biology is the most popular major for incomming students. Both are great schools! It really just depends on what is the better fit.

I preferred a small school and loved Geneseo’s campus. Most Alumni agree…there is just something about Geneseo…we adore the place!
