SUNY Geneseo or Universisty at Buffalo?

I’ve been accepted to both but cannot decide which one. I was actually pretty set on going to UB because I got wait listed and didn’t think I was going to get into Geneseo. But once I found out I did get into Geneseo it made my decision of where to go to college much more interesting. I have visited both colleges and I really enjoyed Geneseo’s campus and overall vibe more than UB’s. I have also done research on both colleges and it seems Geneseo has a better ranking and academic record. So it’s a done deal right? I should go to Geneseo? But here’s the thing I have no idea what I want to do. I have looked into engineering but now I’m thinking business or teaching (still unsure). I like that Geneseo is one of the top SUNY schools but the competitiveness and high standards of the college intimidates me. I did well in high school but I don’t think I’m very studios. I feel that I might relate to the kids at UB more and the size of UB doesn’t bother me.

Can anyone give me some advise? I waited till the last minute to send my deposit so I have to decide fairly quickly. Any other incite on these colleges would help too.

Do you like your professors to know who you are or do you prefer the anonymity of large classes? Do you want to know most people you see or would you prefer a big campus where you rarely run into friends except in your dorm but where you can meet endless streams of new people. Do you want to focus on academics and improve your scholarship or would you be ok with spending the 4 years accumulating information but not necessarily being challenged to change how you think. There are pros and cons to both.

I haven’t visited Buffalo, but I think Geneseo is a lovely school. If you’re looking for smaller, it’s the way to go. And it’s only 45 minutes from Rochester if you need a city evey now and then. Alos, I,think you should challenge yourself a bit. Geneseo has a better rep for a good reason. I do not think the academics are too taxing though.

If you relate more to the students at Buffalo, then it’s obviously a better fit for you and you’d have a better time there. Buffalo is my vote.
