Could anyone help me clarify a couple of questions redarding the desgree system at SUNY Maritime.

  1. I am confused about what the "professional experience" options mean (deck/engine/intern) mean in common app.
  2. Any information about their Naval Architecture program and the options (see here: http://www.sunymaritime.edu/academics/naval-architecture)

For the difference between Deck, Engine and Intern, it might be helpful to look at:

It sounds like the intern option is to gain additional experience in an area, but without the full program of the deck or engine license.

I have a sibling who graduated from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy who works on ships, and he had to select deck or engine when he attended.

I was at SUNY Maritime this summer for work. Beautiful location right on the water.
