How does the premed program at stony brook stack up against other programs? Would graduates be competitive in the medical school application process? Apparently, it is a good research university, but do undergraduates have the opportunity to conduct research projects, or are they mainly for graduate students?

Stony Brook is such a wise financial choice, especially when i know that 4 years of medical school will rack up a huge bill. I just want to make sure that im not sacrificing quality for price.

Also, im out of state and i know that the mantra is "if your OOS public, just go private", but im pretty sure that im eligible for the valedictorian scholarship and my sat/act is within range for the honors program.

thanks!
