Hi everyone, so I had a deadline for January 1st for Swarthmore, and like a dummy I didn’t send my scores until December 31st, but everything else was on time! The ACT score website said it would take around 2 weeks to process my scores and send them, and now I am worried that I blew it big time. Did I miss out on my opportunity to apply to Swarthmore because my scores will be late? They were sent before the deadline…the school just didn’t receive them before.
Also I emailed them about something similar to this, and they replied with “the college was closed until January 4th, and we are still processing materials.” Does this mean they might have gotten the scores and haven’t updated my application page yet?
What should I do? Should I call the admissions office and ask? Someone? This has got me so stressed out!
A lot of colleges will still be accepting scores past the deadline Jan 1st deadline. I would call and ask, just to ease your mind.
Try to relax. It will take them weeks to process all the paperwork for thousands of applications. Towards the end of January, send an email to your regional rep and ask if your file is complete.
Is the ACT board site similar to the College board site. On the College board site it will say when the scores have changed from processed to sent to schools. Is it showing on the ACT board that the scores were ordered and processed but not sent to schools yet?? I don’t think there is anything wrong with you calling Swarthmore now and saying you ordered the scores before jan. 1rst deadline but still showing pending on your portal. Most schools will say the deadlines pertain to receiving the students common ap on time but will not penalize if the HS or stand testing is late. I would call today so you can prob. be told this and not have to stress anymore.
