is superscoring on SAT/ACT generally looked down upon by AOs at t20s/ivys?
for example, would a 1550 in one sitting look better than a superscored 1550?

If superscoring was looked down upon, the college would not allow superscores.
If they say they superscore then that’s what they do. It’s a way to make more kids feel stronger and therefore increase # of applications. If you took two equally weighted tests and got a C and an A you’d have a B. But with superscore you get an A. More kids apply. The school has higher #s to put out and it helps selectivity since more apply.
Some will say they superscore but we do note individual sections…that’s different. You still have your 1550. But they might note that on one section of one test you scored a 620. But unless they say that it’s not a concern.
If they superscore with no exclusion then u have no issue. Your 1550 is that alone.
Schools will all try to give you the maximum benefit of the paradigm they allow. If they superscore, it will be the same as a single sitting. Some schools even super superscore, meaning they’ll combine the best ACT and SAT. Good luck!
A 1550 is a 1550.
That’s really all there is to it. They’re not trying to trick or mislead you.
That, but I think more so that they can use the highest numbers in their official stats. Helps boost their USNWR rankings.
