Hey, I’m interested in applying to a few schools that offer a Superscoring option. I have a few questions about the process. If I submitted two SATs (Reading - 0, Math - 800 & Reading - 800, Math 0) I understand that my superscore would be 1600, but would colleges look down on that strategy? The reason I ask is that I got a 1430 on my SAT (650 R and 780 M). I’m very happy with my math score, but I really don’t want colleges seeing that I got a 650 on my reading. I’m a very strong math student, but it’s hard to score higher than a 780. I’m afraid that when I retake the SAT, my reading will go up, but my math will go down. A perfect score can be ruined by merely typing a 4 into your calculator instead of a 5 ONE time… Does the collegeboard Superscoring option allow you to JUST send the best sections or do you have to send every section from each test involved in the superscore? Thanks.
You cannot send just selected section scores from multiple tests. Both College Board and ACT require you to send the entiire test when ordering tests sent. Colleges profess that they use the highest scores to determine admission and do not hold the lower scores against you.
Collegeboard doesn’t superscore. The College does that. Collegeboard offers score choice. When it is sent it will show two different dates for each section. If your schools allow it go ahead (and pay extra for that). I wouldn’t. The colleges will use the best scores from each test.
