Supplemental Arts Materials?

On the Stanford site, it says that one must submit a recording or piece of art by 11/20. Does this mean our app is due on that date as well?

No, but your recording has to get there by that day.

You have to have completed part 1 of the ap and paid the fee

^yes, that too...

If you miss the mailed recording deadline, you may still be able to schedule a live audition if the music department still has audition times available for your instrument. If you find yourself in this situation, call the music dept. the moment you realize you want to audition; they're exremely nice and helpful.

^ That's probably true, but unless you live in Palo Alto, it's easier to just mail stuff on time.

Thanks for your replies! How would I know that they've received it? This worries me, as it has to be RECEIVED not postmarked. Should I send it in by certified?

Sending it certified helps - you can track it, and you have a proof that you've mailed it. Make sure you send it well ahead of time (at least 10-12 days), unless you are willing to pay for two day shipping or overnight delivery.

Thanks! (10char)

tahnks for reminding........

btw, how do you guys record your music?

I have one of those two way input/output radios from the early 1990s that can record by cassette tape. Cheap, I know. If it comes out HORRIBLE, I’ll probably go to the church down the street and do it with their equipment.

lol, but you can use your computer to do this for you, i believe..

Mine was professional b/c my friend and her boyfriend do this for a living. And they're in a band. Check out your resources and spread the word amongst your friends/acquaintances that you're making a CD. You'll be surprised at how many people might help you! :D Good luck!

thanks....yeah, fine, I am now in an orchestra..maybe someone can help me..

but do we neccessarily need to make a CD ?can I just send my recording via the internet.

It does not have to be a CD - you can make a tape. If you want to consider anything else, you have to check their directions carefully. I don't think you are allowed send files over the internet for audition.

As far as I know, you must follow the guidlines they've given on the form. You cannot use the Internet to send anything.

Read the form carefully. The restrictions and rules are all stated very clearly!

Oh, really, thanks..
then I got to send a CD or a tape?

but what if they don't get it before Nov 20, I mean I do send it before Nov 20..

Send it FedEx overnight or USPS certified overnight.

lol. alright.......thanks.......nngmm
