I'm wondering whether or not it is a bad idea to directly relate parts of my essay to why Yale is so desirable to me. It seems relevant, but I'm not sure if the "Why Yale?" short answer was supposed to take care of that, despite it's miniscule space for writing. Does anyone have any opinions on this, or has anyone actually written a little more regarding "Why Yale?" in his or her supplemental essay? Thanks!

your essay should imply what characteristics make you a good fit for yale. an adcom should be able to see explicitly in your essay what qualities and characteristics make you the right candidate for yale. like english teachers say, show rather than tell.
