Hey there, just clearing up some questions of my own here.

Do I need both the FAFSA and the CSS/Profile to continue my application for USC?
I KNOW I need the FAFSA but not so sure on the CSS/Profile.

Will USC ask me for my first semester grades?
If they don't bother asking me, should I assume I'm not in the running for admission?

I retook the ACT. Got a better score (by 3 points). Should I resubmit an unofficial version, or should I just assume they will get the official one?
I'm still waiting on the mail-out that ACT sends you, but I increased my score from a 27 to a 30. That is a much more desired score.

And possibly the dumbest question of all... When is all of this due?

Most students who are not accepted in the January and February wave (those accepted in Jan-Feb are the ones in the running for scholarships) are asked for a mid-term grade report. Some applicants over the last couple of years have posted that they were not asked for grades and were accepted. So… that isn’t really an answer to your question, it just means you are still in the running whether they ask for grades or not.

Thank you very much, alamemom.
I’ve had my application in since the scholarship deadline. I was just wondering when the supplements like the FAFSA and the first semester grades were due.

Thank you for being such a help on the USC board all the time!

I don’t think there is a huge rush on FAFSA or first semester grades.

USC’s admissions is need blind, so the admission process is not dependent on financial aid.

And obviously first semester grades can’t be submitted until your first semester is complete. I don’t know about you, but for me that won’t be until the first week of February.

FAFSA and CSS/Profile are due February 2, 2010. Mid year grades: If they are excellent, submit them as soon as they are available, even if not asked for them. If they are not so good, wait until they are requested.
