Can anybody explain what supplemental housing is at UT? I read this somewhere in another thread on cc. My daughter recently applied for housing - late, I know. She is worried she won’t get a good dorm, but she wants a dorm with a community bathroom and smaller is fine with her. So, maybe since she’s not picky she has a chance to get something nice and not supplemental?
Supplemental housing is a room that they stick 3 to 4 students in that couldn’t get a regular room, I believe you get a discounted rate and then when a room becomes available they will give you the option of staying in the supplemental room or moving to a regular room. I watched a video on it via UT site I believe.
^ For example in Jester, they converted a study room to fit 4 beds. The discount is true.
Thanks for the replies. It sounds like it might not be that bad. My daughter is going in with an open mind.
@Carolinenora my daughter did her housing application late as well so that is why I looked into what Supplemental Housing is just incase she is put there.
