Alright I tried searching for this but I coulnd't find a clear answer.

I'm getting a recommendation from my boss at Cornell. Do I just tell him to write the letter and mail it to each one of my school's Undergrad admissions' offices? I read that I should also tell him to write my name, birthdate, and high school, and indicate that this is a supplemental rec. Is there anything else I need to do?

Also, to make sure the school as recieved this rec, should I just call or email the undergrad admissions?

Yes to the first question. For the second, give your boss stamped envelopes addressed to all your schools' admissions offices. Ask your boss to tell you when he's dropped them in the mail.

As to the last one, get stamped postcards from the post office. Address them to yourself. On the reverse, write something like: "Received: Supplemental recommendation from ________. Name of College." Put them in the appropriate envelopes (the ones that you give to your boss). The colleges will then date-stamp the postcard and drop them in the mail.

If you don't get the postcard back 1 month after your boss has mailed it, then call them. Remember how much mail colleges have to process, so it will take them a while to get to your recommendation.
