yale’s website says that we can send yale a research abstract or a full paper if we “contributed to a paper on the work.” i am not entirely sure what that means: my research hasn’t been published anywhere, but I am submitting it to regeneron. i worked w/ a p well known prof in my field, if that makes a difference. would it be a good idea for me to submit an abstract? is a full paper preferred?

If you significantly contributed to a research paper, your LEGAL NAME will appear as one of the listed authors, usually after your professors name, but sometimes (not frequently) BEFORE your professors name. If that’s the case, send in the abstract. If Admissions wants to read the full research paper, they will send you an email asking for you to submit the full research paper.

If your name does NOT appear as one of the authors (but you worked for a pretty well known professor), DO NOT bother sending in an abstract or full paper to Yale or any college, as it will only clutter your file. In that case, just list the research as part of your EC list.
