Supplies for classes

Is there anywhere to look up if certain classes have requirements for supplies? I'd like to get them before leaving if possible. Also, in general, how long from the time a class starts does it become necessary to have the certain supplies/books,etc.?

I’m pretty sure we’ll be able to pick up all of our supplies on campus. I’m bringing things like notebooks, pens, and other standard school supplies (cheaper at Target, Staples, etc), but other “special requirements” can probably be found in the Cornell Store.

Isn’t the Cornell Store overpriced?

is it overpriced? yes and no. it really depends what you want to get (ie architecture supplies $$$$ vs regular supplies $-$$). once you get your classes and you see what they require, then you can determine what you need.

how long? maybe 1 class. i would suggest to get your books after the first class (sometimes the professors decide that they dont want you to have a certain book or they switch it from the book listed on the syllabus). for the first class (for your tues/thur and mon/wed/fri), bring a folder and a pen so you can collect the syllabuses/anything else they give out and a pen to take notes (bring sheets of loose leaf paper too/your laptop). i would also suggest to use the schedule notebook cornell gives you to write down all of yoru assignments, important tests, etc. it really helps to organize your life and see what is expected of you for the semester so you can prepare. and dont lose it! they cost aroudn $8 at the store (but little tip fyi…your college’s registrar’s office should have extras  )

Do we get the schedule notebooks during O-Week?

Yes…you’ll get your planner during orientation week.

^^haha thanks for the correct word dewdrop! i was having a major brain fart trying to think of “planner”. ohhh how my brain is melting from the long summer break ;]

Haha…it’s all good ;)
